John: Sure, if you download the example you will see, the type of the vars are defined. In the post is only an example of how to use it. Have not the definition var too.

Carlos: To do that, you have to stream your webcam. This must be done using a server like Flash Media Server or RED5. Look for streaming in google you will found a lot of info.

Hi Aaron,

To use listener within a class is the same as procedural functions. Here I will write a basic example

<pre lang="Actionscript">
package
{
    import flash.display.*;
    import flash.events.*;

    public class ExampleListener extends Sprite
    {
        private var _clip:Sprite;

        public function ExampleListener()
        {
            super();
            createClip();
            _clip.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clipClicked);
        }
        private function clipClicked(event:MouseEvent)
        {
            trace("Clip Clicked");
        }
        private function createClip()
        {
            //create some draw in the clip and add it to the stage
        }
    }
}
</pre>

I hope this answer your question :)

Will you show an example where the listener calls a method within a class, instead of just a procedural function?

Hi harv,

Could be possible if I send you the fla file saved for CS3, BUUUTT, you can create a new FLA file.. my file only contains the document class definition. The if you create a new one and the Main in the document class is enough to the example works.. About the vector class, you get this error becouse this classes only exist for FP10.. you need to use the JigLibFlash for FP9, this version don't use the vector classes. :)
